About us
English version in progress. The German version is complete and authoritative.
NetzAG Lousberg is the joint association of the network groups of two student halls of residence in Aachen. It gives work that has been going on in both houses for years a form that survives the turnover of student generations.
Two houses
The association is supported by the network groups of Lousbergstraße 44 (Rheno-Borussia) and Lousbergstraße 46 (Carolingia Aachen). Each house runs its own VLAN on the shared uplink; the connection to the RWTH university network is provided by the IT Center. The statutes require at least one board member from each house in which the association operates a network, and no more than two board members from the same house. Students from other houses are explicitly welcome.
Purpose
The purpose of the association is the advancement of education and student welfare. According to § 2 of the statutes it is pursued in particular through
- building, operating and maintaining data networks in student halls of residence in Aachen,
- teaching networking and systems skills to students through talks, workshops and clinics, and
- publishing the technical solutions and documentation developed within the association under free licences.
