Privacy policy

This is a purely static website. It sets no cookies, loads no fonts, maps, videos or scripts from third-party servers, and uses neither analytics nor tracking. Only the data technically required to deliver the pages is processed.

1. Controller

Marius Schiffer represents the initiative until the board is elected at the founding meeting; the elected board then takes his place.

We have not appointed a data protection officer; the statutory conditions for doing so are not met.

2. Hosting and server log files

We run this website on our own servers. They are located in Germany and are connected through the RWTH Aachen university network. No external hosting provider is involved.

When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data that the server records in log files: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, the status code, and — if transmitted — browser type, operating system and referring page.

Purpose: delivery of the site, operational security, detection and defence against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website.
Retention: as a rule no longer than 48 hours. The logs are neither analysed nor forwarded to any central system — we do not operate log aggregation. The files are rotated continuously and deleted in the process; with higher traffic this happens sooner, and when the service restarts they are gone immediately. No longer-term storage takes place, and the data is not combined with other sources. Pages are served over HTTPS.

3. Contact by e-mail

If you write to us, we process your e-mail address, your name and the content of your message in order to answer it. There is no contact form on this website. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns membership. We delete the correspondence once the matter has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.

4. Membership

Data provided in the membership application is processed solely to establish and administer the membership (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and to meet our reporting obligations towards RWTH Aachen University (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). It is not passed on to any other third party.

5. No cookies, no tracking, no third-party content

This website stores no cookies and uses no comparable techniques within the meaning of § 25 TDDDG. No third-party content is loaded — fonts, stylesheets and images are served from the same server as the pages themselves. That is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) (Art. 21) and withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)). An informal e-mail to vorstand@netzag-lousberg.de is sufficient.
