Membership
English version in progress. The German version is complete and authoritative.
Membership is open to all students. Prior knowledge is not a requirement — an interest in networks, servers and running things yourself is enough to start.
Who can join
Under § 3 of the statutes:
- Any natural person may become a member; the board decides on admission.
- Membership is open to all students. An application may not be rejected or deferred on grounds of gender, descent, race, language, homeland, origin, faith, or religious or political opinion.
- The majority of voting members should be students enrolled at RWTH Aachen University. If an admission would push that share below 50 %, the board defers the decision; deferred applications are approved in order of receipt as soon as the share permits.
- The general meeting may appoint honorary members, who are exempt from fees and otherwise equal to ordinary members.
You do not have to live in either house to take part.
Fee
The association charges a membership fee; the amount, due date and method of payment are set by the fee regulations adopted by the general meeting. Current fee: [amount] € per [period].
How to join
- Read the statutes (German).
- Fill in and sign the membership application — it contains an English version.
- Send a scan to vorstand@netzag-lousberg.de or hand the paper form to a board member.
